Treana 2016 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon
The 97 point (Wine Enthusiast) Austin Hope 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon for $50 has been one of our best selling wines lately. If you love bold, juicy Cabs with loads of sweet vanilla laden tannins, then you should definitely grab a few bottles. At $50 it's not an everyday wine for most people, but for a wine that tastes like the $95 Caymus, its a relative bargain. Winemaker Austin Hope is also the guy behind the Treana wines and in 2014 he came out with the first Cabernet under that label and they're just as amazing values as the Austin Hope is. Drinking like a mini-Austin Hope the Treana is loaded with aromas of black-cherry syrup, pie crust, salted caramel, snickerdoodle, brown sugar and maple syrup prove intoxicating. The palate is soft, thick and saucy, with more dark fruit flavors alongside vanilla, star anise and roasted cocoa.
