Tasting notes:

Switchback Ridge 2016 Cab: Intense dark fruit aromas of black cherry and black currant indicate the ripeness and purity of this beautiful Cabernet. The structural framework is sturdy, while tannin grips very gently, carrying the fruit flavors with a trace of vanilla into a long, graceful finish. -  Bob Foley, Winemaker

The 100% varietal 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Peterson Family Vineyard comes from a site in Calistoga and was raised in 50% new French oak. It offers impressive amounts of cassis and blueberry fruits intermixed with lots of sappy herbs, incense, and California bay leaf-like nuances. Full-bodied, rockingly concentrated and powerful, yet still elegant and seamless. It's a seriously good Napa Cabernet that might just be one of the best at the under 100-dollar price point. -  JEB DUNNUCK | January 31, 2019 - 96+ points

Switchback Ridge 2015 Merlot: This is what Merlot should be! Ripe aromas and flavors of red cherry and cassis coat the palate with a rich, round middle. A framework of soft tannin delivers a beautiful finish with hints of mocha. -  Bob Foley, Winemaker

The nose is a spicy graphite and licorice, brown spice and red plum. The palate entry is a supple black cherry with a rich core of garrigue, violet and soft notes of integrated brown spices. Beautiful texture throughout. Drink 2018-2027. -  Purely Domestic Wine Report | Volume 7.1, December 2018 - 94 points
