From a prime vineyard high up Howell Mountain, this 100% Malbec (a rarity in Napa) is even riper and richer than the Coombsville Cabernet. The wine is big, dark and inky with aromas of plums and dark ripe berries. This is a rustic wine with powerful fruit. On the palate the wine is rich and round, with a long wonderful finish. Bright garnet black color. Aromas and flavors of pencil savings, berry pie, and chocolate with a satiny, vibrant, fruity medium-to-full body and an even, engaging, medium-long finish that exhibits suggestions of vanilla toffee, spiced cherries, and cedar with chewy tannins and light oak flavor. A big chewy malbec pleaser with rich fruit and structure.
